What is Vinchhudo?
In Gujarat, the time when the Moon is in Vrishchik rashi is called Vinchhudo. Vrishchik means scorpion (vinchhi), which gives the name. Vinchhudo comes every month and lasts about two and a quarter days.

What tradition avoids during Vinchhudo
Vinchhudo is mainly a Gujarati custom. Many families avoid starting long journeys, starting new work and holding auspicious events during this time. Customs vary by family.
How we calculate Vinchhudo
We calculate the Moon's sidereal position with the Lahiri ayanamsa. Vinchhudo starts when the Moon reaches 210 degrees (the start of Vrishchik) and ends at 240 degrees. Panchak is calculated the same way.
